Few weeks before the Red Bull Ragnarok start Red Bull invited to go and do some promotion for them. I never ever had tried snow kiting before, and they knew it, but it was exactly this story they wanted. First time for a professional Brazilian rider trying snowkite in the most difficult snowkite event in the planet.
I arrived in Norway one day before the comp start, but unfortunately it wasn`t windy, so I could not do my first session…
Hello everyone, my injury is getting better and better. I already went in the water, but I have to take it easy. Now I`m strengthening my ankle to be back to the training and be ready for the PKRA World Tour season. Here is some photos from what I have been doing around Rio in the summer. I hope you guys like it.
Last week, I had a strange crash on my training. I hit a kicker for a flat 7 on my home spot and went very high with my kite very low, this always result in a very hard landing. While I was spinning I thought I was somewhere I was not. I landed very hard before I thought I would and because of that my body was not prepared for the shock. My tibias did not handle the impact I ended up having a partial tear of the ligament of the ankle and fracturing my tibias. I will be out of the water for one month.

This is the last tuesday of the year. and our last Picture Tuesday. For today’s Picture Tuesday we are going to go with a pretty old shot. Maybe one of the oldest of the whole Picture Tuesday series. During some pretty gnarly storm it got windy enough to ride in the main Lagoon in Rio. It was really crazy (and gusty) to ride in between all the mountains and buildings! To check all the 42 shots of the Picture Tuesday series, just click here.

I’ve been hanging out in Rio for the last couple of days. It hasn’t been windy at all and the waves have been really small for surfing. But I’ve been getting a bunch of winch sessions in. I don’t have any pictures from the last sessions. But for today’s Picture Tuesday we are going with a winch picture shot at Barra a few months ago.

This one is pretty old. It was shot during a rainy session in Niteroi, the next city over from Rio de Janeiro. There is this lagoon that works pretty well with southwest winds… I’m on my way back to Brazil from Australia, really long way by the way… the days here with Andy were really fun! but I’m looking forward to be at home again!

So yesterday I flew from New Cal to Australia, I came to sunshine coast to hang out a little bit with my mate Andy Yates. I got bad luck in New Cal but for sure was the best comp in the year.
This is a pretty funny but gnarly shot of one of my bails during a winch session in Rio de Janeiro. This pretty nice sized wave came up and I decided to go for it. The thing poped me waaay up and I ended up having to bail… but the view was pretty sweet from up there!

Today we finished the double elimination. I got thru on my first heat against a local rider. After that I lost a heat that I could not loose it, against Sebastian Garat. For keep my 6th place on the over ranking I need stay in a better position or the same as Mario and Sebastian. But for this didn`t happen. I ended in this comp on 7th place, but loosing two positions on the over ranking and ending the year…
